Vienna, 21 Mar. 08 (Vienna Review / The FINANCIAL) - The Vienna Insurance Group is planning to concentrate its life insurance business activities in the Polish insurance market.

This involves the merging of Royal Polska and Benefia Life; in the future it is intended that the two companies will distribute products across the country via banking cooperation under the joint brand Benefia Life. In 2007, they both demonstrated significant growth: Benefia increased its written premiums by 613 percent, and Royal Polska by 44 percent. Together during this period they attained written premiums of PLN 612 million (EUR 162 million), equating to a market share of 2.2 percent in the Polish insurance market.
